10 Sustainable, Women Owned, Inclusive Brands You'll Love
Sustainability is important. Especially in the world we are living in right now, it's important to shop consciously and with intention. Eco friendly, fully sustainable, fashionable, actually inclusive plus size brands DO exist. I know the word "inclusive" gets thrown around a lot and we're all tired of hearing it. Brands try to coin in on the latest trends and claim to be "body positive" and "for all sizes" but actually only carry up to a size 18 or 20. I wanted to put a list together of sustainable, woman owned brands who share similar missions, that carry and cater to sizes beyond the 1X-3X fast fashion narrative.
While shopping sustainably can be a little bit more expensive than your run-of-the-mill fast fashion, remember you're making an investment in these clothes. The clothes you buy from these brands are designed to last and with extra care. While cheaper online boutiques can be great if it's what you can afford or what you like, making investments in your clothing is a real game changer. To have clothes you love, that are sustainable, eco friendly and will last for years to come makes your wardrobe extraordinary. Remember, you don't have to sacrifice style for sustainability. These woman owned brands are fresh, and each have a distinct aesthetic. From chic closet staples, athletic wear, swimwear, alternative style and more, I guarantee these 10 brands have something you'll love.

See Rose Go
Within the plus size fashion industry we are the first to approach premium clothing with lasting quality, sustainability and fair price point. In an industry that has been over inundated with fast fashion and low quality See ROSE Go sees the need for plus size fashion that transcends trends and seasons. We recognize that one well-constructed and thoughtfully designed piece can replace several in your wardrobe. No shortcut, no compromises. Ever.
When we started Girlfriend Collective our first goal was to be as transparent as possible. So many companies tout transparency but only offer flashy headlines instead of substance. We chose every part of our process, from our raw materials to our facilities to our partners, with care. We also discovered quickly that high end fit and feel is not a matter of cost, it’s a matter of time. We take the time to make sure every single one of our designs is so beautiful that you won’t cycle through it the next time you look through your closet. Beyond that, we wanted to find a community of people who cared about where their clothes come from as much as how they look. We're lucky to have found you. Take a look around, we're glad you're here.

SIzes 00-40 4XS-4XL
Today, we’re the world’s most inclusive fashion brand. Tomorrow, we want to change that. We set out to change everything - create unprecedented access, make size irrelevant, represent all of US, as we are - and establish a new normal for future generations. There’s nothing more important to US than making sure all women are included and seen, so that while notions of “us” and “them” become extinct, definitions of beauty evolve. Today, we realize our vision of revolutionary inclusivity with every product in the collection. From now on, available in sizes 00-40. Today, we’re committing to create the change we want to see in the world, so that access for all doesn’t end with US. We will work to empower the industry to embrace inclusion. We will work to build the future with partners who see it like we do. We will be the catalysts that spark the next fashion revolution.
Altar is a clothing company and retail store with a brick-and-mortar location in Portland, OR. We initially opened a business in 2010 (under another name in the same retail location) with a focus on supporting independent artists from our immediate region, and by 2015 when we became Altar, we had grown that vision into the beautifully curated and ever-changing space it is today. We celebrate independent manufacturers and artists from across North America, with a focus on the stories that are woven into their work. We use the phrase, “objects with meaning” because we believe in sharing the unique stories behind these pieces. Our clothing brand, Altar Houseline, is proudly made in America using deadstock materials and serves size gradations from size small to 6XL.
Tuesday of Calinfornia
Tuesday of California is an independently owned lifestyle brand that designs and produces clothes in sizes XXS-7X with an emphasis on adjustable fit for body diversity. We are proud to carbon offset all shipments, use deadstock vintage and California made fabrics whenever possible, and use fair wage labor at our sweatshop free sewing houses.

Inspired by self-love, authenticity, and body positivity, Alpine Butterfly was created to celebrate and empower women all over the world. Alpine is a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind brand made for women by women in sunny Los Angeles, California. Our team is passionate about designing high-quality swimwear and casual-wear that fits just right and makes women feel beautiful inside and out. Every collection is made-to-order with limited quantities of fabric. This means we start making your suits at our local studio in Los Angeles after you complete your purchase. All of our pieces are cut and sewn with love by our in-house employees. Since we purchase finite amounts of fabric to avoid wasteful overproduction, once our pieces are gone, they are gone forever. Our collections sell out quickly so we recommend shopping now if you fall in love with something. We are committed to genuine body inclusivity and carry sizes XS to 6X. At Alpine, we believe a better world starts with us. We are dedicated to treating all of our employees with the highest levels of integrity by keeping our production local. We are also committed to sustainable, zero-waste manufacturing methods.
